Discover one of BC’s wildest hikes with a trained local guide who has an infectious love for the area. With more than 1100m of elevation gain within just 7km, Wedgemount Lake is one of the steepest, most difficult hikes in Garibaldi Park.

That said, adventurers are always thankful they made the trip and are absolutely amazed at the sights they see of massive glaciers, turquoise lakes, and valley views. It is possible to walk around the edges of the glacier too.

You will be proud to show off the photos you take of this unforgettable place and, if you’re lucky, you may even meet a resident marmot along the trail!

This Wedgemount Lake hike ends, rather appropriately, at the gorgeous Wedgemount Lake. Gaze out at the tranquil waters surrounded by the massive glacier — this is the kind of view you need to stop and appreciate for as long as you can. There is also a small non-heated hut and tent pads for camping.

Note: This hike is only offered by us after the snow melts due to avalanche hazards. However, if you’re specifically looking for a snowy, winter adventure, check out our BC Snowshoe Hikes, such as our Cheakamus Lake Snowshoeing and Elfin Lakes Winter Hike.
