This hike is one of our favorites! Particularly because of the view at Garibaldi Lake with its iridescent blue water, surrounded by snow-capped mountains. It makes for incredible photo ops! You can try to swim there too, but don’t be surprised if you go it alone, it’s COLD!!!

It may feel like a grind hiking up the 6km of switchbacks through the forest trail before reaching the first jaw-dropping viewpoint that is Barrier Ridge. Once here, not only will you feel the grind was worth it but you will be in awe over the stunning landscape before you. You may also be approached by a curious chipmunk or two, who will be all too eager to investigate what you’re snacking on.

After a quick break and surely, a lot of photos, you will carry on the final 3km to Garibaldi Lake. This part of the trail will be a little less intense than the prior 6km as you pass by Barrier Lake and Lesser Garibaldi Lake. Once you get your first peek at Garibaldi Lake and the Glacier backdrop you will feel every ounce of sweat was well earned!

A moderate fitness level is required and some hiking experience is advisable. You should be able to walk up to 20kms (12.2 miles) without difficulty.

Take a deep breath, disconnect from the hectic reality of life, and let our certified hiking guide help you feel totally refreshed!
