Venture through forest lined with waterfalls to the alpine where you will find magnificent views of Mt Garibaldi and Atwell Peak, which is actually a volcanic pinnacle. Not to mention breathtaking views of Howe Sound.

This is a moderate snowshoe excursion that is great for those who have some previous aerobic conditioning and want to try a longer trail. This Elfin Lakes winter hike can be a day or multi-day hike (see below). The hut is solar-powered with lights, a gas fireplace, and cooking elements. It’s perfectly warm for a cold afternoon or evening.

After spending the day snowshoeing to Elfin Lakes, take the rest of the day to relax or play in the snow. In the winter, stay in the warm cozy hut overnight, maybe do some snowy stargazing in the evening?

This hut is not as rugged as one might think; it’s continuously warm! The hut has propane heating, propane lights, hot plates, bunk beds, and pit toilets. Whether you choose to spend some quiet time relaxing in your bunk or socializing with other guests in the hut, the choice is yours.

People from all over the world find their way to this hut, so it can be busy in the winter. You may even see people building snow caves to sleep outside! Get in touch if you want more details.
