We are very pleased to introduce our very first event in collaboration with Les Chèvres! This event is an avalanche awareness workshop for women looking to start exploring the backcountry.

Winter has arrived! Have you been thinking of taking the leap from ski resort to the backcountry? Avalanche education is the first step! Bewild Adventures, in partnership with Les Chèvres, the biggest all womxn outdoor community in Canada, are offering you a unique experience to learn in a safe and friendly environment. Get ready to join an amazing community of outdoorsy women that will inspire you to push your skills and find confidence in the mountains!

We provide you with all the avalanche gear so you don’t need to worry about spending expensive amounts before knowing what gear will keep you safe out there.

The exact location will be confirmed along the Sea to Sky Corridor

  • You want to take your skills to the backcountry but don’t know where to start.
  • You are thinking of taking an Avalanche Skills Training but want to know more about the gear and terrain before signing up.

What to expect...

  • 1 PM - SMeeting. Registration. Mingle.
  • 1:15-1:45 PM - Snowshoeing and snow science activity.
  • 1:45-3:30 PM - Avalanche rescue activity
  • 3:30-4:30 PM - Chocolate Fondue
  • 4:30–5 PM - Snowshoeing back to the parking lot. Closing.

What to Bring...

  • Daypack: large enough to hold extra clothes, food, shovel, probe, etc. Approx. 30+ litres for day trips
  • Outerwear jacket
  • Outerwear pants
  • Warm clothing
  • Gloves: proper winter-weight style gloves + extra pair. Hand warmers and extra mitts if conditions are very cold
  • Tuque/warm hat
  • Headlamp
  • Water bottle and mug for tea
  • Your mask and gloves according to our COVID measures
